The ballast/starter must be disconnected before installing the LED fluoro tube in the existing fluoro fitting. No LED can run through a starter. This is quite an easy modification, simply take all electronics except the switch out of the circuit (or bypass it), so that the power runs directly through switch direct to tube socket.
